A DC motor is an electrical device that converts direct current (DC) into mechanical energy. It works based on the principle of electromagnetic induction and the interaction between magnetic fields and electric currents.
When a current-carrying conductor is placed in a magnetic field, it experiences a force. This force causes the motor to rotate. The direction of rotation is determined by Fleming’s Left-Hand Rule, which states that when the thumb, index finger, and middle finger are held perpendicular to each other, they represent the direction of motion, magnetic field, and current, respectively.
