In handling systems for quantitative dispensing equipment, high-precision jog (inch) operation is required to accurately position and dispense materials into designated containers. For such applications, stepper motors are highly recommended. To achieve higher torque and improved control, a stepper motor combined with a planetary gearbox is an even better solution.

For applications where precise positioning is not critical, brushless DC (BLDC) motors offer an excellent alternative. Compared to inline (parallel-shaft) BLDC motors, the BLDC right-angle hollow shaft gearmotor (BLDC “R-type” gearmotor) saves significant space. It simplifies mechanical integration by reducing the number of coupling components, thereby lowering component costs and assembly time.

Compared to traditional AC motors, BLDC motors offer the following advantages:

Higher torque at low speeds and a wider speed control range
More energy-efficient and environmentally friendly
Superior speed stability under varying loads
Advanced driver functionality, including instant electronic braking and adjustable forward/reverse rotation
